Character: Kyo (Sometimes spelled Kyou, but sticking with Kyo~)
Series: MADNESS
Version: Manga
Age: Unknown. Looks to be somewhere around 20-30.
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual, seems to lean more towards men however.

Appearance: Short, jet-black hair and blue eyes.. Kyo looks pretty normal. He wears many different outfits but the similarity between them is usually the addition of unnecessary belts and open shirts. His chest is rarely fully covered. He's fairly tall and muscular with a tattoo of a butterfly on his upper, right arm. Kyo has several ear piercings, including one that Miyabi has too.

Kyo also paints his nails various colors to..feel..pretty? I have no idea when he would find the private time to do that without being laughed at by Miyabi. Or why a guy like him would even do it in the first place.

Personality: Kyo has two personalities. One of them being the hotheaded ex-leader of the Madness who won't stop to think twice about killing someone. He has calmed down some over the years of being locked up in the church. However he gets angry almost too easily and still doesn't seem to have any problems with killing. Just a really irritable, rude, and loud person.

The other personality is a calm person who just wants his sins redeemed and freedom. All his memories of his previous life are forgotten and he only knows about it through what he has been told. He also wants a certain priest in bed. :x Izaya, the priest, caused this other personality to appear while taking care of Kyo when he was being kept beneath the church. He would do anything for Izaya for being so kind to him. But he mostly just..wants to screw him into a mattress.

The only thing that these personalities might have in common is that they both need the company of other people. Kyo may act like an arrogant, dependant person. But he can't stand to be alone for long periods of time.

Abilities/Weaponry: Kyo used a large "demon-blade" called "Jigfreed". Just your average extra-powerful sword. However, Izaya pretty much destroyed it to stop him and Miyabi from killing each other with Oboro's giant gun-thing. He now uses his fists, knives, and anything else he can get his hands on.

Also, being from Madness, Kyo could probably be called something of a "super human". Either he's just really strong or just too stupid to actually die. It could go either way, really. But it takes a lot to get him down.

Weaknesses: His insane temper. When he's not in a murderous mood and gets angry; Kyo's insults get repeated and obnoxious to the point that the situation isn't that serious anymore. He walks himself in circles and then just gets more irritated because he pretty much did it to himself.

His Suppressors Izaya and Miyabi. Miyabi was Kyo's first Suppressor while they were part of Madness. Afterwards Izaya became his Suppressor. They help keep Kyo under control when he snaps; Izaya through compassion and Miyabi through violence. Techniqually a "Suppressor" could also be called a "Lover". Because no matter how lost Kyo is of himself while running around screaming and stabbing people- he would never hurt a beloved.

His fighting style could count as a weakness as well. While powerful, it is not very controlled.

History: Both of Kyo's parents were criminals, however he grew up in an orphanage without their guidance (And was born in a cage? This could just be a mistranslation, but I've seen it more than once. =_=; ). But, to him, "a child of a criminal is a criminal" and he took up killing at a very early age. This was how he figured to survive while the world was in chaos.

Then he eventually became the leader of Madness (Quick explanation!: "Year 2700 AD: There was a disturbance in the Earth's crust. Modern civilization has crumbled. The states and races are all jumbled together. Territory changes from hand to hand; mankind stirs up strife again and again. Thus in the chaos that followed, a group of people pursuing the aesthetics of murder was born. They obeyed no one and slaughtered at whim, reveling in their murderous games. People feared them and called them 'Madness'." They don't consider themselves human.). After a long reign; a member, and his Suppressor, Miyabi, killed Kyo in an attempt at an escape from the group. Kyo was left for dead and the group disbanded (But they continued to kill as individuals instead of a group.). Izaya's father found Kyo and brought him and his sword back to the church for who knows what reason. Kyo was kept in a large cage beneath the church with chains and shackles to prevent him from running away. Having lost his memories from being killed-but-not-really, this was when his kinder personality formed.

After his father died, Izaya continued to care for Kyo. Bringing him food, reading prayers, and generally just protecting him from the option of execution. Finally, after three years, Kyo broke from the cage during an attack by another Madness on the church who was after his weapon being held there. During the fight he was reminded of Miyabi and his memories all came back to him at once. Kyo returned to his usual Madness state and got rid of the intruder but was prevented from doing much else by Izaya.

The village was all "Yay!" at this and praised Izaya for keeping Kyo under control. Then Kyo was all like "WTF.", grabbed Izaya, decided on the spot to become a bounty hunter, and kidnapped the poor boy. But Izaya was all "OMG YAY! Does this mean you no kill no more??" And Kyo was all "Shit no. Only in this village if you stay with me, though, deal?" And Izaya was all like "DDDD:" and was dragged along to eventually become Kyo's plaything.

...That's the gist of the background story. Kyo and Izaya later meet up with Oboro and Miyabi and they join the little bounty hunter group. Though, the strange thing is, they're either fighting each other or killing various other Madness instead of the bounty hunting first intended. Huh.
